    replacement tweeters XL-26

Does energy sell OEM tweeters? The tweeters are blown in my XL-26 and I'd like to replace them. If not, how do I decide what to replace them with?

     Thanks,

    D

    HI

I have a pair of C8 energy and 1 of the tweeter is damaged although in good working condition.

    1) Do you have stock on it ? if so how much is it ?

    2) Can i change is myself ? if not, I live in NYC, where is the closer authorized dealer to be able to do that for me ?

    thanks

    Cedric

    Re: replacement tweeter C8

    Hi Cedric,

I'm not familiar with your speaker, but if you can take the broken tweeter out, you will be able to replace it with a new one. The XL-26 tweeters just twist into a bracket from the inside of the box, I just removed the mid-bass driver to get my hand in there. Others take a screwdriver.

I would phone the number in this thread to order a new tweeter from Energy directly, I replaced both of mine in 5 minutes and a local authorized repair shop wanted $500 to do it. That's 10X the cost of the replacement parts.

    HI

thx for your help and reply

the C8 are connoisseur series from end of 90's.

But I just don t know how to open the box as there is 2 metal part in front of the tweeter.

that one also is accessed from the back side. remove the bezel panel over the top woofer, remove that woofer, now you can reach inside and access the tweeter. Not the easiest to work on, but they look really cool!
