Does C-200 measure as well as the C-3 did?

Soundstage.com posted NRC measurements for the Energy C-3 that look really good.  The C-3 is discontinued, so I am curious if the C-200 measures as well as the C-3.  I think they were a similar price point.  Any chance to get some more detailed measurements than "+/- 3db"?

the +/- 3 db as a method of describing frequency response has been industry standard for as long as I"ve been in audio. To the eye, it appears that a response curve with peaks and valleys some 6 db from each other might be a fairly 'rough' response.

However consider that this is the response in an anechoic chamber (another industry standard) so actual ROOM RESPONSE might vary significantly from this anyway. Add to this the human brains ability to 'smooth' minor bumps and dips as well as spikes or troughs in response and it's not that big of  an issue.

To me, knowing that the tails of the response- the LF and HF extension- are shown at the -3 db down point is a significant measurment standard.

    C3 is listed as 46- 23K

    C-200 is listed as 48-20K

Considering that the C200 is considerably smaller (a concern of lots of people these days) it keeps up pretty well and is only 1 db down from the C3.

Thanks for the response.  I'm interested in the off-axis measurements that the NRC does.  Those measurements show you a lot more than the typical vague on-axis frequency response numbers.  NRC alums like Energy crush most of their competition when these full measurements are shown.  The reason I got interested in the C-3's in the first place is because of how well they measure compared to the other NRC-measured speakers (at all price points) on the Soundstage website.  If we just consider  +/- 3 db on axis, then the difference between the speakers wouldn't be as apparent.  But when they publish the full battery of NRC measurements, it shows that the C-3's would come out near the top in a double-blind testing situation.  That's why I'm interested to see something a lot more descriptive than on-axis, +/- 3db specs for the C-200.  I think if NRC type measurements were published with all speakers, 'esoteric' 'hi-end' brands would evaporate and 'value' brands such as Energy would quickly assume their rightful position at the top of the heap, not the middle.  It seems that printing more detailed specs would help you guys tell your story more effectively.  It would show that you guys have real science and engineering going on, while many other speaker manufacturers are just building pretty boxes with drivers stuffed in them.

     Thanks!

I appreciate your concern for publishing more detailed specs. However in our experience too many numbers and charts can confound a lot of potential customers.

I don't have anything to post, perhaps one of the engineers in Toronto could respond to this?
