I was fortunate enough to grow up in the fifties, so most of my 5 favorite rock bands are from the 60's or early 70's. I really don't listen to most new music, it is all hip-hop or sounds the same to me. I would rather play my "good old stuff" or listen to some Big Band or New Age on my XM satelllite radio.
Not in any order-
1. Jimi Hendrix Experience
2. Led Zeppelin
3. Van Halen (with both singers)
4. Buddy Holly and the Crickets
5. Lynyrd Skynyrd
I would have to include The Who, I got to see them with Keith Moon a year before he died, man what incredible sound from only 4 guys! I also got to see the original Skynyrd with Ronnie VZ and the rest.
Can't forget ZZ Top, I started playing their first record on my college radio shows in 1972. Got to meet Dusty after the show in 1994. Jenna Elfman, the tv star, was a go-go dancer for them then.
Now you need to ask-
what are your 5 favorite blues bands/artists?
I will answer that next time.
They all sound great on my three Energy RC/LCR speakers!
