    RC-MINI Centre as surround?

I am purchasing an Energy package today from Future Shop.  I have 2 RC-70 and a RC-LCR for a centre.  I need some help for surrounds.  I need something small in size, so I was thinking about the RC-Mini bookshelves for surrounds located at about 7 feet off the ground.  I heard that 2 RC-Mini Centers are a better option for surrounds?   Any thoughts?

    Re: RC-MINI Centre as surround?

    Hi Ali,

I'm not sure why someone would think that RC MINI CC would be better as surrounds.(?!?) If they are mounted vertically (not like a centre channel) they would have better dispersion in the horizontal plane.

If you plan on mounting them on the wall then RC MINI SAT is more than a fine option since THEY come with a bracket! The CC does not!

The bracket will allow for a nice neat installation and will allow you to aim the speaker accordingly. RC MINI SAT are cheaper too! and actually have better bass than the CC (one woofer in a cabinet is better than two in a somewhat larger volume).

I think I threw in my two cents. . . . Go for the RC MINI SATs

    Smile
